Dear Families and Players,

 

This registration session will allow you to sign up for participation, add your contact information and complete your payment. To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or checking account information available. Following the completion of this registration, you will see a charge on your account.  Please note that if the teams decide to go to any tournaments, the fees are not included in this registration and will be the responsibility of the individual families.

   

For baseball players in A – Majors:

 

Recently, the CVLL Board of Directors had a discussion about how we can improve the way in which we develop our players, and we want to put your child in the best position to succeed, further develop his/her skills, and above all else enjoy coming out to the baseball and softball fields. We've learned in the past few years that there has been some confusion on the appropriate division for a child. This has resulted in some kids playing down as well as others who could have used another year of seasoning at the same level.  

 

This year you will register your child to play baseball or softball and our team of evaluators and coaches will assess your child at one of two tryouts in December or January. Each player will be drafted to the appropriate team in the right division based on the collective coach evaluation and their age/grade.  We realize that for some players they may not play in the same division as their friends, but our goal as a Board and as a League is to ensure that a player gets the necessary reps in games and practices to further develop their skills. To illustrate the difference: one is a kid who sits on the bench 2-3 times per game, routinely playing in the outfield and batting near the bottom versus being the team's star player and developing confidence!

  

To the younger players in baseball: Farm Tee-ball, and Peanuts; here are some guidelines for parents/guardians:

 

Tee-ball is for those kids who are newer to baseball/softball, or those players from last year who could use more work hitting off the tee and/or coach pitch.

 

Farm should be for those players who routinely hit coach pitch in Tee-ball, as well as players who are able to throw the ball consistently plus catch and field the ball well.

 

If you are new to CVLL and unsure about whether Peanuts, Tee-ball or Farm is right for your player, please reach out to the Board and we can evaluate him/her in January.
