CLAYTON VALLEY LITTLE LEAGUE

Clayton Valley Little League FAQs

Why does it look like I did not get the early bird discount?
All families are charged an $85 non-volunteer fee at the beginning of the season.  If someone in that family ends up volunteering as a coach, scorekeeper, etc. there is a form that can be filled out to get the fee refunded at the end of the season.  Minimum hours are required to qualify for this refund. (Form can be found in our "Forms and Safety Info" section.

Why does the age group available not match my childs actual age?
Little League uses an age calculator based on your child's date of birth to determine their LITTLE LEAGUE AGE.  Your child may be older or younger than what you see available, but please know that the option available to you is the correct group based on the Little League age chart.  https://www.littleleague.org/play-little-league/determine-league-age/

Why can't I pick a division for my child to play in?
All children registered will be registered by their Little League age ( https://www.littleleague.org/play-little-league/determine-league-age/ ) and placed accordingly.  Draft eligible divisions will require all children to also undergo an assessment to determine the most appropriate division of play for them.  DO NOT worry about the age group that you are slated in.  These age groups get adjusted as we form the teams and divisions.

I want my child to play up/down this season.  Can I request that?
There is a special comments section during registration where you can give us your thoughts about your child's placement, etc.  This is not a guarantee for placement, but will alert us to your concerns and allow us to assess your child with your input in mind.

When does the season start?
Assessments are mid January, and opening day is mid March.  The season runs through the end of May.

What time/day are practices/games
Before we have  registration closed and teams created, it is hard to give exact dates.   However, the beginning of the season generally starts with one practice on a weekday, and one on a Saturday for all teams.  Once gameplay starts, all teams tend to have one weekday game, and one Saturday game.  The older divisions may have an extra practice each week provided that we have field availability.
